London-based company River Art Productions has created an iPad app that follows the route of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on Sunday 3 June, in which the London Philharmonic Orchestra will perform popular works by great British and Commonwealth composers on the glass-fronted herald music barge, Symphony.
The user is taken on a multimedia journey along the river, viewing 60 iconic London landmarks along the way to celebrate 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. Beginning with the contemporary buildings and modern architecture of Chelsea Harbour and ending with the iconic 126-year-old Tower Bridge, the app navigates the river and its historical surroundings through over 90 full-screen images, music, audio and text with fun ‘did you know?’ facts.
The Orchestra features alongside beautiful time-lapse videos of the river with short bursts of the rousing music to be performed during the pageant.
The app is priced £1.99 and 50% of the profits from the app will be donated to the Thames Diamond Jubilee Foundation.
